Members and guests are invited to enjoy an evening with Racing NSW Chief Steward, Ray Murrihy. Interviewed by Richard Callander, Ray will give us an insight into some of his more controversial decisions and share some of his vast experiences that span his forty years in the racing industry.

A bit about Ray...

Racing NSW Chief Steward Ray Murrihy recently chalked up the significant career milestone of forty years as a Stipendiary Steward, officiating in each of the six Australian states including the past 15 years as Chairman of Stewards in New South Wales.

In NSW he is the chair of a panel of 25 Stewards responsible for the conduct of 5,323 races annually on 112 racetracks involving betting turnover in the region of $3.85 billion.
 

Ray Murrihy is from a strong racing family whose career as a Steward started at country meetings in Western Victoria, progressed to controlling major race carnivals and dealing with the leading personalities in racing throughout Australia.

Ray is regarded internationally as a leader in his profession and his career achievements have seen Australian racing placed at the forefront of safety and integrity from a global perspective.
