The year has flown by and Christmas is just around the corner.
Wollongong welcomed a new arrival in accommodation with the Hotel Ibis Wollongong opening its doors on 2nd November providing 150 Rooms to conference delegates.
To further advance and develop Wollongong Conference & Events a strategic partnership with Tourism Wollongong has transcribed. We would like to welcome Rachael Lihou to the team who will be focusing on expanding business tourism.

SEGRA's Eleventh National Conference will be Hosted by Wollongong and the Illawarra Region over the 17th - 19th September 2007.
Management Solutions (Qld) initiated the SEGRA National Conference in 1997 to focus on the problems and issues facing regional Australia today, and to propose positive solutions. Rydges Wollongong is finalising the refurbishment of the Restaurant and Conference level. The modern and open plan design compliments the $4 million refurbishment in December 2005.
The new look Gallery restaurant will offer a modern Australian cuisine created by award winning Canadian chef Keith Lefeure.

HSBC Waratahs start their 2007 season at WIN Stadium Wollongong |

2007 is a Rugby World Cup year and the HSBC Waratahs start their Super 14 campaign with a trial against the CA Brumbies at WIN Stadium on Saturday 20th January 2007.
Events and Marketing Manager for the WIN Sports & Entertainment Centres, Milton O’Brien, says” This Super 14 trial is a great way for local Rugby fans to catch some early season action".
The main game will kick-off at 7pm with gates opening at 5.30pm. Tickets can be purchased from any Ticketek outlet, on 13 28 49 or at www.ticketek.com.au , Adults $20, Children (4-16) $15.

Miss World Entrants Visits Wollongong |

The Judging for Miss World NSW took place at the Lagoon Seafood Restaurant on Monday 20th of November 2006. Lunch time saw the modelling of swimsuits and Evening gowns. Contestants at Dinner were judged on dining Etiquette with Entrée of Snails in Garlic butter, followed by a Prawn Linguini . Six out of the 14 contestants were chosen to compete in the Miss World Australia contest, three of which are Wollongong girls!!
The award wining Lagoon Seafood Restaurant offers conference facilties and also an excellent dinner or lunch venue.

Wollongong Hosts Deputy Principals Conference |

400 Deputy Principles took time out from their Annual Conference for a beach themed gala dinner at the WIN Entertainment Centre on September 7th 2006.
The venue transformed into a beach experience with sandcastles, surfboats, beach bar and flags. Music was supplied by the Endless Summer Beach Party. The Deputy Principles got into the mood coming in board shorts and beach themed outfits.
