On Saturday 7 March some areas around CBD, Darlinghurst, Taylor Square and Surry Hills are subject to road closures, particularly in the afternoon and evening due to the Mardi Gras Parade. We recommend members travelling through or from these areas to Royal Randwick for Patinack Chipping Norton Stakes Day plan ahead.

Peter Falk farewells AJC

Peter Falk OAM retired recently from the AJC Board. Mr. Falk had served since being elected in August 2005. Mr. Falk wishes to thank the members of the AJC for their support over a number of years and wishes the AJC every good fortune in the future.

Autumn Carnival Ticketing

For the convenience of Members and their guests, Members will be able to purchase a combined members’ area and entrance ticket for each day of the 2009 Tooheys New Autumn Carnival avoiding the need to purchase two separate tickets. These combined tickets will only be available for pre-purchase.

Royal Randwick Guineas - 14 March 2009

The Group 1 Royal Randwick Guineas is the feature race on Saturday 14 March as we celebrate St Patrick's Day. 

Members please note there is an event on in the Moore Park precinct on this day. We do advise you to allow extra time for your journey to the race course.

Gates Open: 11.00am
First Race: 12.30pm
Last Race: 5.48pm

Course Entry: $25
Members Guest Tickets: $100

Masterplan Update

The Royal Randwick Redevelopment Stage 1 is now in full swing. Members will note that the Leger Lawn is now unavailable as we have commenced the construction of our new race day stall and swabbing complex. In addition the new taxi access is nearing completion which has restricted access in and around the existing Fig Tree Lawn. It is anticipated this work will be operationally complete for Autumn Carnival and, although the cosmetic touches may not be finished those of you who travel by taxi will be able to use this new and efficient system, significantly reducing waiting time.

The final part of Stage 1 the new Alison Road Plaza will commence construction immediately after Autumn Carnival and, while this will create some short term disruption will be complete for Spring Carnival.

We thank you for your patience during this significant undertaking but are confident the final result will more than justify the short term disrutption.
