AJC Convention Centre crowned National Caterer of the Year
The Australian Jockey Club (AJC) Convention Centre at Royal Randwick was awarded the highly prestigious ‘National Caterer of the Year’ accolade at the 10th Annual Savour Australia Restaurant and Catering, National Awards for Excellence 2008 held in Brisbane on Monday 27th October, 2008.
This follows the AJC’s win as ‘Caterer of the Year’ at state level in mid September. Scoring the highest marks overall across a range of categories including food quality, service and customer satisfaction as determined by a panel of judges, the AJC was nominated to represent the state of NSW at this week’s National Awards competing against international convention centres.
“The AJC has always been recognised as a preferred destination for conventions and events and this award duly recognises the outstanding quality of the catering and service that is produced at Royal Randwick,” said AJC CEO Norman Gillespie.
“To win this award over such a quality list of competitors demonstrates that the AJC is at the top of a hugely competitive industry”.
“The best caterer in Australia award duly recognises the dedication of our wonderful chefs and service team led by Lynell Peck, Executive Director for Hospitality and Events and George Mullen, Executive Chef. A venue with a difference, the AJC hosts events everyday of the year and offers a truly unique location and a range of facilities to complement our award-winning catering”.
The AJC also picked up the National Function / Convention Centre of the Year Award on Monday night.
