Corporate Golf Day

On Tuesday, 5 August 2008 the Australia Day Council of NSW held its annual Corporate Golf Day.

A field of 92 representatives from our corporate family took part in the 2008 Corporate Golf Day held at New South Wales Golf Club.

A spectacular winter’s day greeted players at arguably the most scenic and challenging golf course in Australia – a delight for the true golfing die-hards.

The Ambrose format for the day gave all players in a team the opportunity to contribute to the group’s effort – definitely required on a course such as this.

This year we provided some big hitting back up for one of the most intimidating tee shots on the course – the 15th. Players watched on as a NSWGC Professional smashed drives over the hill setting them up for a birdie opportunity (which not all of us took advantage of).

Following the round, teams gathered at the Club House to enjoy lunch and catch up with old and new friends. Upon reviewing the scorecards for the day, it seems that we have some impressive golfers amongst us.

Australia Post successfully defended their title and was awarded the prestigious Australia Day Council of NSW Golf Trophy. This team played well – very well. With 62 off the stick, a handicap of 8 7/8 and a nett score of 53 1/8 they were always going to be hard to beat.

However, runners up Capital Finance were right there with 61 off the stick, a handicap of 6 1/8 and a nett score of 54 7/8.
