Advance Australia Dare

Advance Australia Dare

As ambassadors for our country, we would like to invite you to showcase your talent at a recently launched a campaign called Advance Australia Dare

All Australians are being asked to give the anthem a fair go and sing it in a way that is meaningful to them.

Advance Australia Dare aims to engage people to think about their Australian identity and culture, and just have fun with showing some creative flair when singing the anthem.

So if you fancy yourself a great jazz, rap, country ’n’ western signer – we want your rendition of the anthem! We dare your colleagues, family and friends to take part in this campaign and show your national spirit.

The most popular entries will be played via digital screens on Australia Day in front of hundreds of thousands of patriotic Aussies.

Visit the Advance Australia Dare website for further information, to see the entries or submit your own.

Your 2 cents

There are many new things to do this Australia Day. If you're in the CBD, check out Sydney's Biggest Backyard which will have lots to do for everyone! There's the Great Aussie BBQ,  entertainment on the main stage for the kids in the morning and the grown-ups in the afternoon with a comedy debate and "dancing under the stars" for everyone to get up and have a groove.

There's the BIG Telly where you'll be able try out your skills as part of the Great Aussie Guitar Hero Tournament powered by Xbox. You might even win one.

10 hours, 9 stages and 70 voices are something to be enjoyed at Rocksong in The Rocks.

If you're on Sydney Harbour, dress your vessel and give the judges a chance to see your creativity in one of two locations this year - Farm Cove and Athol Bay.

There's also much to see and do if you happen to be staying in your local area. Triple j will be at Parramatta this year while Penrith will host Ross Wilson and Paulini. Blacktown will have their traditional 4 man parachute jump. And Wollongong will have plenty to see and do at Wollongong Harbour.
