As you are aware, a decision has been made by Racing NSW and the Australian Jockey Club to cancel the Spring Carnival at Royal Randwick following the outbreak of Equine Influenza (EI).
The Early Morning Trackwork Session and Trackside Tips with the Trainers have also been cancelled, however, our Evening With Theo's Boys will go ahead as planned.
We have some exciting International tours on the go, and details of these trips can be found in this Newsletter.
An Evening with Theo's Boys - Thursday 27 September

Due to the overwhelming response to this popular event the venue has been changed to the Oaks Lawn Marquee.
We still have vacancies for this event. The Member is free, guest card holder $25 and additional guest $50. Bookings are essential. Kindly contact the Membership Department on 9663 8419 or email members@ajc.org.au
Warwick Farm Local Racing
You have most likely read about the club's desire to conduct local racing at Warwick Farm whilst we are in the crisis of Equine Influenza.
Members should note that this is a 'closed meeting' and not open to spectators. The AJC appreciates the importance of managing the bio-security requirements of conducting such a meeting and to that end is working collaboratively with Racing NSW and the Department of Primary Industries to deliver such.
The meeting will be broadcast on both TVN and SKY Channel and members are reminded that a full TAB and bookmaker service will be available at the Canterbury Racecourse Betting Auditorium.
Local Racing Sponsorship
As we move into a period of local racing the AJC is seeking sponsors to support this important industry initiative. If you should be able to assist in sponsoring one of these races please contact the AJC Sponsorship department on (02) 9663 8402. Race sponsorships include naming rights to the race, winning post signage, race book inclusion, advertising in national newspapers form guides and coverage on TVN, SKY and the Sky Racing Radio Network (2KY).
All sponsors who undertake sponsorship of a local race will also go into a draw to become the naming rights sponsor to a race on Warwick Farm's most prestigious day of racing - Chipping Norton Stakes Day - 16 February 2008.
Members' Racedays
Given the indefinite timeframe as to when racing will resume in a normal sense or in any form at Royal Randwick, the AJC is looking to ways the members' facilities may be utilised for major race days over the Victorian Spring Carnival. The club has received a number of mentions from members about the possibility of opening members' areas on major race days. To that end the AJC is investigating the possibility of this with Government authorities to allow for normal TAB and bookmaker services to be provided.
We would appreciate your thoughts on this matter. Would you be likely to attend the Members' area at Royal Randwick on a major Spring Carnival day to mix with fellow members and guests? Let us know by return email.
