The Carnival Continues |
|
Despite the wind, a huge crowd enjoyed some wonderful racing on George Main Stakes Day, so come on, dust yourselves off (literally) and head to Royal Randwick this Saturday for arguably the best Spring Carnival day in Australia with the Arrowfield Stud Super Saturday and the quality Spring program at Flemington. This is surely the best of spring racing.
Apart from the horses, there is a huge variety of entertainment and for an extra touch of glamour we have the Sydney Confidential Fashions on the Field.
For a more laid back day of racing come to Warwick Farm on Monday. Details of what is on offer at The Farm are shown later in this newsletter.
Please check too that you have the current season's scan cards. If you do arrive at the course with the wrong card you may have to pay course entry, which will not be refunded.

Racing News - The Tuckometer Report
Introducing the Tuckometer Report. A new section of the Newsletter with racing news which has been provided by our Racing Manager Col Tuck.
Arrowfield Stud Super Saturday this week features an outstanding line up of races including the Group 1 Arrowfield Stud Epsom Handicap, The Metropolitan, Arrowfield Stud Flight Stakes and Inglis Spring Champion Stakes. All 10 races on the program are "Black Type" events and include the first races for Two Year Olds being the NSW Breeders Plate for Colts and Geldings and the Keeneland Gimcrack Stakes for Fillies.
Road to Rock has firmed in Epsom betting following his strong win in last Saturday's Group 1 George Main Stakes and now strongly challenges Rangirangdoo for favouritism in the race. Leading Victorian trainer Lee Freedman will also try to qualify imported galloper Speed Gifted for the Caulfield and Melbourne Cups via The Metropolitan and it should be remembered that Railings in 2005 and Tawqeet in 2006 both won The Metropolitan prior to the winning the Caulfield Cup. Melito is the current point score leader in the AJC/STC Princess Series but depending upon the result of the final leg the Flight Stakes any one of 3 Fillies could win the trophy. In addition to the Group 1 races the promising Rothesay
will contest the Roman Consul Stakes for Three Year Olds whilst 2008 AJC Derby winner Nom Du Jeu returns to Royal Randwick in the Craven Plate.
