As you may have read this week, the Board of the Australian Jockey Club (AJC) announced that more than $25 million will be spent on revitalising Warwick Farm Racecourse under a major initiative.
Major new Member, spectator, racing and training facilities will be built under the Grand Plan for Warwick Farm that will see its future secured as a racing and training venue for decades.
The kick starter for this will see William Inglis & Son Ltd (Inglis) purchase 9.5 hectares of land from the AJC at Warwick Farm. Inglis has developed plans to build a state of the art giant covered sale ring with bars, restaurants, and stables for up to 1000 horses.

A Night of Legends with Ian Craig and Bill Waterhouse, October 1
Racings greatest caller Ian Craig was the longest full time race caller in Australia with a distinguished radio and television career that spanned more than 44 years. Calling 35 Epsom, Derby’s and Golden Slippers, Ian has seen the greats – Kingston Town, Luskin Star, Super Impose, Sunline, Octagonal, Lonhro, Might & Power.
Bill Waterhouse the colourful and iconic bookmaker, is releasing for the first time his own life story ‘What Are the Odds’ and AJC members will have the very special opportunity to hear Bill interviewed. The patriarch of Australia’s racing dynasty, gives a rare insight into his record-breaking bookmaking career – which started as a clerk in 1938 and continues to this day. Bill recalls the characters of the turf over these many decades and reveals candid details of his exciting betting duels with punters such as Sir Frank Duval (the Hong Kong Tiger), Felipe Ysmael (The Babe), Peter Hunter (Huxley) and Ray Hopkins (Hoppy).
