Celebrating TOURISM WEEK in the Illawarra!

Illawarra Tourism, together with the Illawarra Mercury, are proud to introduce 'Tourism Week' to Wollongong and the Illawarra region.

Taking place between the 18 - 22nd September, Tourism Week will be a celebration of tourism in the Illawarra and a chance to showcase the large array of experiences that we have on offer in our own backyard!

The highlight event of the week will be the annual 'Illawarra Tourism Awards' to be held on Wednesday 20th at the WIN Sports and Entertainment Centre.

Managing change - FREE seminar!

As part of Tourism Week, Tourism Wollongong is hosting a 2 part seminar on Tuesday 19th September, at the Wollongong Golf Club.

Starting at 10am will be a seminar hosted by industry professional and Director of '2T Hotel Services', Matt Davidson. 

Matt will be presenting 'Managing Change' in the Illawarra tourism marketplace, which is timely with the IBIS set to open in November.  Matt will also address accommodation yield management issues.

Natasha Brain, Industry Development Executive from Tourism Australia will also be making a presentation regarding their domestic marketing campaigns and how you can get involved. This presenation will follow lunch at 1pm.

Tickets are selling fast!

Tickets to the Illawarra Tourism Awards are selling fast, so if you would like a ticket to this annual celebration of the 'best of the best' in the Illawarra, please call Illawarra Tourism on 02 4229 5802 or your local tourism office.

This year we received a record amount of submissions so this will surely be a fantastic evening to celebrate.
