Vale Ernie Smith

Legendary racing identity Ernie Smith recently passed away aged 84.

Ernie was the "right hand" man to his brother the legendary T J Smith for many years at Tulloch Lodge and an integral part of the team that shared in so many Group 1 wins both here at Royal Randwick and throughout Australia.

In later years Ernie supported his son Sterling who also trained at Royal Randwick and together they enjoyed feature race success with Bold Promise and Brave Prince.
