Midweek Race Meetings – Members’ Area

AJC Members please be advised the trial of combining members and public areas for mid week race days has now concluded.

Taking into consideration the feedback of AJC members and race day attendees during this time the AJC Board has decided to ensure an area at all AJC race meets conducted at Royal Randwick and Warwick Farm is available for the use of AJC Members and their guests.

ROYAL RANDWICK – Owner’s and Trainer’s Bar
The bar and café area located on the Ground Floor at the northern end of the Officials Stand will now be sectioned off for the use of members and their guests.
Tote facilities are available in this area along with bar and food service.
Dress standards in this area will be smart casual.
Guest tickets into the Members Area will be free of charge but all guests must be signed in by an AJC Full Member at the General Office.

WARWICK FARM - Coffee Shop & Chatham Bar
The coffee shop and Chatham Bar located on the Ground Floor of the JBH Carr Stand will be for the exclusive use of AJC members and their guests.
Dress standards in this area will be smart casual.

Guest tickets into the Members Area will be free of charge but all guests must be signed in by an AJC Full Member at the General Office.

Gentlemen: Collared shirt, long trousers and close shoes with socks.
(no shorts, denim, polo or t-shirts, no sandals, joggers or sneakers)

Ladies: Blouse with slacks, skirt or dress.
(no shorts, denim, revealing attire and no thongs)
 

Members’ Moneymakers – Shayne Montgomery

READILY This 3YO filly looked unlucky to lose when she rushed to the line late in a 1550m Fillies and Mares Restricted race at Canterbury 16/05. Readily became awkwardly placed approaching the home turn before only finding room to move after the bird had flown. Look for her to atone shortly in similar class over a similar distance.

ROMANY STAR He is a lightly raced 3YO who looks likely to win sooner rather than later after a game effort in defeat at Canterbury 16/05 in a 1900m 2MW event at his fourth start back from a spell. He drew a wide barrier on the day and he was forced to race wide and face the breeze for the duration when he was rising in distance. He can be followed from now on.

ONTHELOOKOUT His effort at Canterbury 16/05 in a 3YO Restricted race is worthy of mention after he became unsuited in transit on the day. He settled well back in the field whilst the winner, Mine In Time was much better placed racing up close, outside the leader. Onthelookout rattled home over the concluding stages and he will be much better suited on a bigger track.

PATRONYME She has had her problems in the past but she only needs to maintain her current form to snare another win in the near future. Her first up win in mid April was excellent then she appeared to be very one paced when next produced second up in early May. Her third up and most recent outing was at Canterbury 16/05 and after working across to race on the pace from a wide barrier nothing much went right for her after the field settled down. Look for her again shortly.

Members Quarterly Information Meeting - 6 June 2009

All members should have received their Quarterly Update in the post. As follow up to this communication piece a Members Information Meeting will be held on Saturday 6 June 2009 (prior to the races). This is an opportunity for members to discuss issues with your Board members.

A complimentary morning tea will be served.

Gates to the racecourse will be open for Members wishing to attend this meeting from 10.00am.

Membership Renewals – Update your details

Membership renewals for the 2009/10 AJC season will be posted in mid June 2009. If you have moved or changed address during the previous season and have NOT advised the AJC of your change of address now is the time to do so.

Change of address information must be received in writing. Please also remember to include your Member ID number on the correspondence.
