This Saturday will see four Group One races in what will be an outstanding day of racing. The Emirates Doncaster Mile is set to be THE race of autumn with an outstanding list of horses including favourite All Silent who is half brother to 2004 winner Private Steer. All Silent will attempt to become the first second full or half relation to win the race since 1965 when Time and Tide claimed victory following his full brother Fine and Dandy who won in 1963.
The great Takeover Target will face Apache Cat and Racing to Win in the Sydney City Lexus T.J. Smith Stakes in what could be the star thoroughbred’s final race in Sydney.
The Sydney Children’s Hospital Sires Produce Stakes will showcase the Golden Slipper winner, Phelan Ready and the Patinack Farm AJC Oaks will see Miss Darcey hoping to back up after winning the Adrian Knox Stakes.

AJC Board Update
A General Meeting of the AJC was held on Thursday, 9 April 2009 at which meeting 10 Directors were confirmed or appointed to the AJC Board. The Directors are (in alphabetical order): John Cornish, Ronald Finemore AO, Thomas Ford, John Ingham, Richard Kelly, James Mathers, Alan Osburg, Julia Ritchie, Sharon Skeggs and William Sweeney.
Later this afternoon, Friday, 17 April 2009, the AJC Board will meet for the first time for the purpose of electing office bearers including a Chairman. A notice to inform members as to the office bearers will be posted on our website at the conclusion of the meeting.

Scone Cup Tour 14-15 May
We are currently accepting registrations of interest for the annual AJC Members Tour to Scone Cup. This year’s tour will include a visit to Patinack Farm, Arrowfield Stud and of course lunch in the marquee at Scone Racecourse for the running of the Scone Cup.
Costings are close to being finalized but will be approximately $450 – $550 pp.

Members please note the new taxi way (pictured above) is now fully operational, making getting to and from Royal Randwick by taxi a much easier process. Where possible the use of public transport is encouraged.

AJC Young Members - On Top of the Rise

Tickets are still available for the Top of the Rise AJC Young Members event, in the Top of the Rise precinct on the Queens Lawn on Schweppes Sydney Cup Day.
Alongside the glamorous Emirates and News Limited marquees Young Members will spend the day with a glorious view of the home straight, enjoying all day catering, a fabulous bar, live entertainment including DJ Rob Somatic and a special guest performance by Australian Idol finalist Carl Riseley plus private tote and bookie facilities. After party buses will also be available for those wishing to continue into the evening at The Loft @ King Street Wharf.
There is only a limited amount of tickets available so get a group of friends together for a great day at the track.
