Urgent Memo to All Road Users Rob Arnold - RIDE MAGAZINE

Memo to all road users….

Rob Arnold the publishing editor of RIDE Cycling Review penned this article in the 39th edition which is on sale now. Read by either purchasing RIDE or click here.

The Ben Mikic Foundation has been set up with an overarching goal of making cycling on our roads a safer place for young cyclists and supports Rob Arnold’s call for all users to share our roads equally as well as respect the needs of all users. Ben’s parents wanted to create something positive out of his untimely death and with the help of the Southern Highlands cycling community initiatives are being enacted to fulfil the foundations motto – education, safety and awareness – initiatives can be viewed on benmikicfoundation.org.au

In a more wide ranging attempt to make our roads a safer place, Rob Arnold in his Memo to All Road Users, has articulated the responsibility that all road users have to share the roads equally and to respect the right that all users have of being able to arrive at a final destination safely. The Ben Mikic Foundation fully endorse Rob Arnold’s thinking on this critical issue and hopes that opinion leaders and politicians will heed his call and provide the leadership that causes attitudes to change amongst all road users, which in turn leads to a much safer road using public.

Durie High On Success

Charlton Durie was a member of the Southern Highlands mountain biking team that blitzed the Australian National championships recently.

Durie was high on success after becoming the under-19s champion and securing his spot in the junior Australian team that will compete at the World Championship in Italy later in the year.

The team came away with four gold medals, two bronze medals and one fourth placing.

The national championships were held over three days on the Australia day weekend, at Mt Stromlo in Canberra.

The gruelling events attracted hundreds of competitors and were held at a new purpose build mountain bike park.

Sincere congratulations from the Board of BMF to Charlton who has been a tireless supporter of all activities of the Foundation.  WELL DONE. A busy year ahead with HSC, World Champs !!!!!!
