Unique Opportunity For Nerida Winter To Select Your Millinery

Princesses will need the right headwear to standout at Royal Randwick during the Spring Racing Carnival and Nerida Winter has offered an exclusive opportunity to our members to find that finishing touch to your outfits.

Nerida Winter is the official milliner to Royal Randwick and will host a private evening for 40 lucky ladies at her studio at Double Bay.

Princesses will be given the Royal treatment as Nerida’s experts select the absolutely perfect millinery to complement your spring Racing outfit.

As a special bonus there will be a 10% discount on the night.

This exclusive occasion will take place on Thursday 18 September and to be in the running you must register for the draw by 5.00pm Monday 15 September. Winners will be selected at random from those who enter.

Parking For 2008 and 2009

Due to the commencement of the master plan at Royal Randwick, there have been some changes to parking for 2008/09.

From Leger to In Field
Unfortunately there will be NO parking available on the Leger whilst we recover from World Youth Day and master plan works unfold to improve the amenity for all. All Members parking for those who pay the basic fee is now located in a prominent location in the in field, close to the entrance to the pedestrian tunnel. Car park entry is via High Street.

Members Private Reserve
Members who purchased Private Reserve Parking on the Lawn Reserve have access to their parking via Abbotford Street off Doncaster Avenue. These spaces are no longer numbered and attendants will direct you to the best available space.

Disabled Parking
All disabled parking is available on the infield. A buggy service will operate through the tunnel to bring you from the parking area to the turnstiles and back.

Upgrades to Betting Facilities in the Members Area

The break in racing at Royal Randwick provided an opportunity to upgrade the TAB betting facilities in the Members Area. The upgrade includes new screens, new automated betting facilities and a sleek new look.

Members Entertainment Throughout Spring Carnival

The Piano Man (or you may more commonly know him as Mr. Minsky) will be gracing the stage yet again in the Members’ Area over 3 days of Spring Carnival.

He will be performing on September 27 George Main Stakes Day, October 4 Arrowfield Stud Super Saturday, and November 4 Melbourne Cup Day at Royal Randwick. However, please welcome David Butts who will be entertaining all Members on October 18 City Tattersalls Club Cup Day who is also a solo act.

Del Aqua Pamper Palace

The new and exclusive day spa Del-Aqua has come on board this Spring Carnival to work with Royal Randwick and deliver the ultimate Royal experience for Members and their guests. Be sure to be pampered like a Princess or Prince and visit the Pamper Palace.

Fashions on the Field

The fabulous Fashions on the Field will return this Spring Carnival for one day only on October 4 Arrowfield Stud Super Saturday.

The Search for the Royal Randwick Princess and her Prince will conclude on this day as the winners will be announced at Fashions on the Field.

Members Information Briefing - Reserve the Date 3 October

As you are aware, the unincorporated Australian Jockey Club has now become a company limited by guarantee, the Australian Jockey Club Limited.

In compliance with the Corporations Act, the first Annual General Meeting of the Australian Jockey Club Limited will be held in late October 2009, and you will receive the usual notification of that meeting. As the Australian Jockey Club no longer has any assets, business or members, it is not required to hold the formal Annual General Meeting that would otherwise have been held in October this year. Nevertheless we feel that, in the interests of accountability and transparency, we wish to give members an opportunity to hear from the Board and CEO on the progress over the year.

This information session will be held on Friday 3 October commencing at 2pm in the Panorama Room, 3rd Floor Paddock Grandstand at Royal Randwick followed by drinks and canapés. The meeting has been scheduled for the Friday preceding Arrowfield Stud Super Saturday, incorporating four feature Group 1 races, to tie in with those traveling to Sydney for the long weekend.
