Following a general election of the committee Tuesday 2 October 2007, the Australian Jockey Club (AJC) announced today the following changes to the committee. Mr Ron Finemore having been successfully elected by the members of the AJC will take his place on the committee as at 4 October 2007. Mr Finemore fills the vacancy created by the resignation of Mr David Hall.
As a result of the election, the committee today elected the following persons to the executive positions on the committee:
· Mr Ross Smyth-Kirk, Chairman
· Mr John Ingham, Vice Chairman
· Mr Jim Mathers, Honorary Treasurer

Mr Finemore AO has over 40 years business experience with Finemores, a transport and logistics company with annual turnover of $400 million and 2500 staff. Mr Finemore has also served as the Chairman of the Australian Trucking Association and Deputy Chairman of the Australian Transport Council. He has extensive interests in horseracing with 12 horses currently in training including Husson Lightning.
