The 2008 Australia Day Lunch, proudly sponsored by Australia Post, was another outstanding occasion that brought together almost 1,500 guests from across Australia’s corporate, community and government sectors, to reflect upon and pay tribute to our national day.

The event was compered by Angela Catterns and featured:
* Australian Music Legend, Renee Geyer who rocked the stage with a unique take on the INXS classic Never Tear Us Apart
* Katie Noonan, whose angelic voice treated guests to a spine tingling performance of Crowded House’s Don’t Dream its Over
* Tamworth farmer, Darren Greentree's brave account of loss and hardship on the land.
* Australia Post 2008 Australian Legends stamps, honouring Dame Elisabeth Murdoch AC DBE, Victor Smorgon AC and Loti Smorgon AO, Lady (Mary) Fairfax AC OBE and Frank Lowy AC for their committment to Australian Philanthropy.
The NSW Premier, The Hon Morris Iemma’s 2008 Australia Day speech acknowledging 200 years since our first, and thankfully only military coup - the infamous Rum Rebellion.
