Ride Of Silence 25 May 2008 at Bowral

Please join us for the world wide Ride of Silence Event.  Rides will roll across 250 cities in North America, Europe, Asia and other countries including BOWRAL.

In Australia rides are also taking place in Canberra, Bendigo, Adelaide, Mt Isa, Sydney and Melbourne to:

  • Honour cyclists killed and injured on our roads while cycling
  • Honour two local riders – Ben Mikic killed in 2007 and Leigh Williamson in 2003
  • Raise awareness that we all share inadequate road infrastructures,
  • compared to other countries i.e. Holland, Denmark, France
  • Encourage all road users to focus on safety and consideration to others
  • Highlight urgent need for safe infrastructure for cyclists

Registration is at 7.20 am for a 7.30 am start. A BBQ breakfast and coffe cart will be located at Bowral Lions Park at the commencement of the Ride.  Gold coin donation.

 



September Dinner Dance

The inaugural Ben Mikic Foundation Dinner Dance is being held on September 7 at the Highlands Golf Club in Mittagong

The objective is to raise funds to ensure the sustainability of the education programs of the Foundation.

Live music and great food will combine to provide a terrific night.  Tickets available from July 5 at:

  • Forbes in Mittgong
  • Contours in Bowral

MOUNTAIN BIKE TRAINING SKILLS PROGRAM

Following the success of the first MTB program in April at Biloela in the Southern Highlands bookings are now being accepted for the September 8 & 9, 2008 program.  Places are limited so please book as soon as possible.  Recommended age is 11 - 20 but if you have a particularly capable and fit younger rider please contact us.  Program includes tuition, accommodation and meals.
