The Australia Day Lunch held on Friday 22 January is a highlight on the Australia Day calendar in the countdown to our nation’s biggest annual event.
For over 25 years the Australia Day Lunch, which is once again proudly sponsored by Australia Post has established itself as Australia’s largest annual corporate lunch. 1,500 senior representatives from business, government and community support the event to experience its exhilarating program and share in the spirit of Australia Day celebrations.
Hosted by The Hon. Michael Egan, Chairman of the Australia Day Council of New South Wales, and attended by Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir, Governor of New South Wales, The Hon. Kristina Keneally, Premier of NSW, as well as high-achieving Australia Day Ambassadors. Radio host Adam Spencer was MC, while musical direction of the Sydney Youth Orchestra will be provided by renowned conductor Guy Noble. Guests were treated to a sensational musical performance by Aussie rock icon Ian Moss and a guest speech by inspirational Paralympian Kurt Fearnley.
Australia Post presented the 2010 Australian Legends Award to a group of outstanding Australian writers - Tim Winton, Peter Carey, David Malouf, Colleen McCullough, Bryce Courtenay and Thomas Keneally.
